I suspect 5G coverage will be a lot broader and the temperamental nature of the mobile 5G experience a lot more stable and less heat-sensitive by the time Apple rolls out their first 5G devices.
I don’t get the case for 5G from a consumer mobile phone perspective. It just makes no real sense. I don’t need crazy fast to read a map, facebook etc. LTE if fine for that with speeds (for me) of around 20m.
Now, when we have AR glasses and want to overlay compelling 3D, moving things? Yeah, maybe then. But for the next few years, it’s nothing but a checkbox feature without any real benefit to consumers.
Exactly. We want 20M consistently everywhere: indoors, outdoors, at the airport, wherever… not 5G in some spots.
We live in a time of overhyped marketing about theoretical “turbo boost” speeds that we’ll rarely see. Just finish building the damn infrastructure you started with the last tech!
