I immediate thought of this scenario:
– Bad actor takes video of victim’s face
– Bad actor steals victim’s Galaxy S10
– Bad actor unlocks the Galaxy S10
I can think of many more, but what’s the point of face unlock if it is so easily defeated?

Samsung’s face unlock has never been intended to be secure; it’s basically just a photo-match (and IIUC is not set up by default). However, the thing that baffles me is why they offer it at all given that fact.
Can you imagine if this was an iPhone? My god these youtube sellouts would be having a field day! But since Samsung pays them this is just another great Samsung phone. If you haven’t noticed, these youtube “reviewers” are just paid advertisers. It’s like those old infomercials on TV.

Just looking at that lame face he’s making there makes me want to slap him.

Doesn’t disaparage the device. Just says “Be aware this happens…”
queue the moral outrage. oh wait, it’s not apple, no one will care.
oh it’s intended to be secure…they’re just incapable of writing good software to make it secure.
