This is fascinating and terrifying at the same time. The power of AI is remarkable, but no doubt there are some great difficulties ahead. More realistic and effective fake news, counterfeit people, and AI that takes jobs away, perhaps creating new jobs along the way, but with a gap that forces many people to retool their skillsets.
Keep refreshing those faces, keep an eye out for anomalies. The ears seem especially susceptible to flaws. All very interesting.
I downloaded a few of the images, uploaded to google to do an image search. For all the images I uploaded, a face was found that was almost an exact match.
Retooling skill sets is only going to go so far. If you are looking, you can see the top people in silicon valley have already seen this coming. Some propose that there be a basic income for every citizen regardless if they work or not. Others are walling themselves off, and looking to find technologies to let them transfer their brains to computers (I kid you not) so that by the time the masses figure out that they are being left behind, it will be too late.
I have a friend whose father was a wealthy banker and farmer in Becholod City in the Philippines. I asked him if he used combines to harvest his crops and he said no. The workers on his plantation have told him that if he were to automate his farms, they would radicalize and burn his properties down. So he’s accepted the old ways to maintain his life and to give people employment.
How many Howard Roarks amongst the US elite would be willing to make that choice and slow down their profit taking so that less fortunate people would have a living wage, thus staving off anarchy? Seems the two choices I suggest Silicon Vally elites are mulling revolve around that choice. Saying let them eat cake is going to be more and more dangerous to one’s neckline as time passes.
The mouth and teeth never look real. One day they will I expect.
That’s a lot of deformities in the results
