Dave Assman is sticking it to the man by sticking it to the back of his truck.
When Assman (pronounced “Oss-men”) applied for a personalized licence plate, his request was denied. SGI called the name an “unacceptable slogan.”
The Melville, Sask., man has now immortalized his last name on the back of his truck with a large decal that looks like a licence plate.
I could not be prouder to be a Canadian.
How in heaven’s name does neither this nor the article include a mention of the Seinfeld episode?

Back in the 80s I used to see Paula Pondstone at San Francisco comedy clubs a lot. I remember her talking about her manager being unable to get his name on a license plate. His last name was Thedick.
But apparently the California DMV doesn’t speak Norwegian because I saw “dritsak” on a license plate.
