Think you can tell if you’re being phished? Take Google’s quiz, see if you get a perfect score.
Note that when they ask you to enter a name and email at the beginning, it’s fine to just make one up. They want to use the info in the quiz, not harvest the data.
“They want to use the info in the quiz, not harvest the data.”
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… Oh, wait, you’re serious. Have you not been paying attention for the past fifteen years? They are totally harvesting the data.
Why would the quiz be on such a weird domain (“withgoogle.com”)? How meta!
The question about the one with the attached pdf is not a very good challenge. If I know who it is, and was expecting it, nothing would be suspect.
How can they harvest fake, made up data? Won’t be of much use in that case, will it?
Kind of meta that the actual URL for the quiz itself is somewhat phishy…
I kiiiiiiiiiiiinda think I’ll wait for someone like Rich Mogull to offer up something like this instead.
It sure is, along with IP address and no doubt other things, if one uses a standard fake e-mail address…as with Disqus…
The quiz’s url is suspicious, so I won’t even click through to see it. Did I get a perfect score?
