I love showing these visual effects reels to my 13-year-old. Blows his mind when he sees how much of it is “faked”.
I’m always blown away by these reels. I’m fascinated by the decisions to make certain things in CG instead of real and vice versa. I’ll be honest though, super hero films specifically are becoming unwatchable for me. Too much stuff on screen, too much detail and movement that’s still not realistic enough for my brain to fully buy in.
What I enjoy is just how much of it isn’t faked.
I felt the same way after watching Avengers: Infinity War.
I’ll keep watching sci fi and the like, but it isn’t as enjoyable as far as the CG is concerned, as it once was.
I can agree with this to a degree. Watching the trailers for Captain Marvel just make me think, “Ugh…they’re doing it again…”
Such a great movie! My only regret is that I didn’t see it in IMAX 3-D.

They even faked her fingernails on that last close up — went from short and bitten to long and nice. lol
