I really miss the custom holiday cards (iCards) and photo books the Apple used to offer. They made some very special gifts.
If you are looking for a special gift idea for this holiday season, 9to5Mac’s Michael Potuck has your back. Be sure to check out the ratings for each solution. Some of these solutions seem much better than others.
I am definitely reading this, although for this year it’s too late. Every year for what seems like the last decade, I make a book for my mom in iPhoto and then Photos as a Christmas gift, documenting out extended family for that year. I capture all of the happenings of myself, siblings, and our kids (we all live relatively close to one another and get together often) birthdays, first days of school, losing a first tooth, first communions, weddings, etc. It has always just been easy to load all of my photos onto my computer and use iPhoto and then Photos to make the book. This year, I have to figure out what to do instead! Using online options is difficult because our internet is not reliable and often slow. Doing it locally on my Mac was always easiest. I am trying the mimio plug in for Photos right now. It’s clunky to use and I hope it produces a nice book. Just finished the book. Fingers crossed!
