My thanks to Bare Bones Software for sponsoring The Loop this week. Do you sling code or compose with words? Whether you’re an app developer, web developer, systems admin or just want a powerful writing tool that stays out of your way, BBEdit is worth checking out.
I’ve been using BBEdit since 1995, so I know first hand that it can handle any job I throw at it.
BBEdit is crafted in response to the needs of writers, web authors, and software developers, providing an abundance of high-performance features for editing, searching, and the manipulation of text.
BBEdit 12.5 is 64-bit ready. Download and try it today!
I used BBEdit many years ago but actually came to prefer TextWrangler. BBEdit had started to feel a bit like a bloated cow, and TextWrangler was one of those cute little dogs nimbly zig-zagging through traffic cones in comparison.
When BareBones discontinued TextWrangler I was disappointed. But eventually, I had a problem I knew TextWrangler could solve and I downloaded BBEdit (it having, after all, everything TextWrangler had plus more).
To my surprise, either BBEdit had slimmed down or technology had caught up. Maybe a bit of both; I think some of BBEdit’s extras are now hidden by default, too. I found myself really enjoying using BBEdit again, so I bought a copy again.
So if you used to love BBEdit but haven’t tried it in a while, give it another shot.
