BBC:
Silent film footage from World War One has been painstakingly restored for a new film by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.
The archive footage has been combined with original interviews with soldiers who fought in the war.
The colourizing of this footage is absolutely incredible.
Incredible.
I hope there are plans to bring this to the US. Heck, I’d be satisfied with having to stream it.
For those interested, there’s already a documentary series of WW1 coloured footage and is also pretty great. I imagine with these new techniques though it’ll be even more incredible. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0481303/
