AirPods have long flirted with the top spot on Best Buys’ monthly sales list but this report is the first time they’ve made it all the way to the top.
Why now? Could be the new iPhones, Macs and iPads, combined with the approaching holiday gift-giving season, a bit of a perfect storm.
Number three on that list? Apple’s Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone adapter. Interesting counterpoint.
I think it’s because word of mouth has reached a critical mass. They are super convenient and work very, very well. Many of my skeptical associates have since become ‘true believers’ in them.
I think the supply has “finally” caught up with demand. I can’t think of any other product, Apple or otherwise, that has had demand outstripping supply for so long.
I’m certainly seeing more of them on the streets and during commutes.
