New iPad Pro

Apple today introduced the new iPad Pro with all-screen design and next-generation performance, marking the biggest change to iPad ever. The all-new design pushes 11-inch and 12.9-inch Liquid Retina displays to the edges of iPad Pro and integrates Face ID to securely unlock iPad with just a glance. The A12X Bionic chip with next-generation Neural Engine in iPad Pro outperforms most PC laptops and offers a new USB-C connector, Gigabit-class LTE, and up to 1TB of storage to enable powerful new mobile workflows.

It is absolutely stunning how powerful these new iPad Pros are. We expected Face ID, but adding USB-C and the A12X Bionic really make these new devices something incredible.

  1. I love the iPad Pro. But OMG how I do hate the new Smart Keyboard. With the Smart Keyboard attached, the iPad Pro will actually be thicker than my current iPad Pro + Smart Keyboard. And it’s far too expensive for a “what the hell, I don’t like it but I might as well have the damned thing” purchase.

  2. I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact it can come with 1tb storage.

I still remember being blown away when i got my iPad 1 with 64gb…

  3. 7nm processors…
    aslight dig at i7 processors…
a number of digs at PC notebooks…
it won’t be long before Apple starts producing notebooks with their own chips.

  4. The connector might be reliable, though, and it supports some new features. The current one isn’t. I know John K on this forum has also been railing about it for years.

I haven’t seen actual thickness measurements, but given this, I’d be OK with it. As it stands, I already have a separate Spigen back for my iPad Pro so it’d be a strict improvement for me. The back is amazing; prevents scratches, I can put down the thing anywhere, etc. I tried going without it when I first bought it, and within a week I had a small dent on the case. :/

But, yes, too expensive given I just spent $$$ last year. I’ll probably have to wait a year.

  5. It looks like the camera is protruding. Does this mean the iPad will not lay flat on the table?
