Apple has refreshed its refurbished storefront this morning to now include 2018 MacBook Pros for the first time. Inventory is primarily centered around the latest 13-inch models with prices starting at $1,529. A high-end maxed-out 13-inch model is on sale for $3,139, which is good for $560 off the regular price, marking today’s biggest savings. Most of these deals work out to be around 15% off the new condition price. In recent months we’ve seen as much as $200 off 13-inch models and up to $300 off 15-inch configurations.

Too bad you can’t modify the RAM on these. 16GBs on a MBP 2018 isn’t quite what you’d want. And I don’t think you can add it later.
Doesn’t even that amount of RAM go a lot farther on modern Macs than it used to?
Yeah, probably.
When I buy a Mac, its a MBP and I max it out so I can try to get 6+ years out of it before the next upgrade. Typically, this approach has served me well. I can get 6-7 years of fairly heavy use without any real issues. Post production video and music mastering are what the RAM is good for, for me. The more RAM, the more possibilities for layering complex tracks and plugins. Honestly, however, I have not factored in how Apple’s Memory Compression factors into all this, if at all. So its possible more RAM is just more RAM.
