The new iPhone XR, integrating breakthrough technologies from iPhone XS in an all-screen glass and aluminum design featuring a stunning 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display — the most advanced LCD in a smartphone — and six beautiful finishes will be available for customers to pre-order beginning Friday, October 19 at 12:01 a.m. PST on apple.com and the Apple Store app.
And:
iPhone XR will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB models in black, white, blue, yellow, coral and (PRODUCT)RED starting at $749 (US)
And:
Customers will be able to pre-order iPhone XR beginning Friday, October 19 at 12:01 a.m. PST with availability beginning Friday, October 26, in more than 50 countries and territories.
Follow the headline link for all the technical details. But if you want an iPhone XR anytime soon, I’d jump on that pre-order.
My XS Max order last month was awesome using the iOS Apple Store app. I favorited the Max I wanted in the app before the store went down during the evening before orders started so that it’d be one click to get my phone selected for the pre-order.
I also did the iPhone Upgrade Program pre-approval so that I’d not have to wait during the purchase. That process opened for XR on Monday.
Everything was so smooth for the XS that it was almost anticlimactic to complete the order, especially compared to some of the 45 minute battles in earlier years of reloading the Apple Store and ATT store web pages over and over, finally loading and beginning the order, and then being timed-out of the order and having to start again!
I also have the Siri shortcut that the Apple Store app suggested set up to place my order for my wife’s Product Red XR on Friday morning. The future is now!
