Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has weighed in on early sales of Apple’s new products, and is seeing massive demand for the iPhone XS Max over the iPhone XS, with Apple Watch Series 4 demand so high that supply constraints may extend unless Apple brings on more assemblers.

In a note seen by AppleInsider TF Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo is seeing between three and four times the demand for the iPhone XS Max versus the iPhone XS.

Worldwide, the 256GB model of the iPhone XS Max is reportedly most popular, with the 512GB one suffering from a “serious shortage” because of low NAND flash supply.

As a result of channel checks, Kuo is expecting about 19.5 million Apple Watches shipped before the end of the year, up from 18 million.

I bet the XS will pull ahead eventually. But I could be wrong. I used to think that the iPhone 5s was the perfect size. But now my iPhone X seems small.

I was just in the Danbury, CT Apple store and picked up one of the last Apple watches they had in stock: Aluminum, cellular, sport loop. I wasn’t planning to get the cellular but GPS was gone and I had a month wait online so I bit the bullet. Who knows, maybe I’ll use it. The watch is great, easy to set up and I’m happy with it. I’m delighted Apple is moving so much stuff.
The Xs and Xs Max are also selling like mad. No Max’s in stock there (I’m not in the market, but asked anyway). The store wasn’t particularly full, must have been a crush on launch day.
A coworker came by my desk earlier today, to show off his new XS Max. He’s quite smitten. With the phone, not with me.
Perhaps the XS sales are lower because potential XS buyers are waiting to evaluate the Xr? XS Max buyers would be less likely to be considering an Xr, it seems to me. I wouldn’t have guessed three times less likely, though.
