The United States is a comparatively young country, but one with a rich and diverse history. From the ancient villages of New Mexico’s Pueblo people and the early Spanish settlers in Florida, to the Russian traders of Alaska and 19th-century missionaries in Utah, each of the 50 states has its own story to tell.
Bucket list for me. I’d love to visit every one of these.
Better move fast if you want to see great old buildings in my suburban town. Another very old home with a barn (!) just got knocked down.
If they’re including Mesa Verde for Colorado, choosing San Xavier for Arizona is simply flat-out wrong. Casa Grande is older at 650 years, https://www.nps.gov/cagr/index.htm as is Montezuma’s Castle which is 800 years old https://www.nps.gov/moca/index.htm
It may well be the oldest continuously occupied building in the state…and it’s a gorgeous place…
