Fan of the Yes song Roundabout? This is a wonderful video. Rick Beato does what he does best, taking apart a song, piece by piece, exposing all the complexities and helping you appreciate Roundabout at a whole new level.
What makes this song great: Roundabout by Yes
Damn. 1971!
Great track. I hear so many different ‘sounds’ going on in this song, (Pink Floyd, Bee Gees, The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Police).
Would love to know how Beato gets his hands on these multi-track recordings.
It took up one whole side of a vinyl record.
Long versions of all the old classics became the mainstay of late night stereo FM stations that played entire sides no breaks
I don’t mean to sound like an old fart and believing those days were better than today…but gee, in light of the list of songs in 1971 he recalls can you name a year after 2000 that could compare?
Well, to be honest, wasn’t that the case for most of Yes’ songs? 😛
I was (still am) a huge Yes fan; I even have the magnificent Album-cover-sized book of Roger Dean’s art.
