I’m running the developer betas. My experience is that iOS 12 beta is very solid. I’ve not run into any issues that get in the way. Not crazy about the change to the camera icon in Messages (explained in this tweet), but that’s design, not a beta issue.
As always with beta software, make sure you have a solid backup (in iOS, make sure you archive the backup, so it doesn’t get overwritten) before you make the move.

A reminder to others: even if this beta is solid, the next one might not be in some critical area you need. Installing a beta is going looking for trouble. That’s why they’re public, after all: so you can find trouble and report it to Apple.

Just downloaded the iOS 12 beta on one of my iPads and am quite impressed. Not one single app I use so far has a problem. I’m looking forward to testing it out. Seems the developer betas are a bit more dicey when it comes to compatibility than the public betas. So I’m glad to wait for the Mojave public beta. I learned about the way APFS sets up multiple volumes as I prepared for a separate installation of Mojave public beta on my MacBook Pro. It took only a few seconds to set up. It took more time reading the menus to figure out what the differences are between reserving a minimum amount of empty space to keep on a volume, and the other setting for specifying the maximum size of a volume. This is vastly better than having to repartition a drive and all the time-consuming falderal. And it keeps the test volume as small as possible as a bonus. I like APFS more and more as I use it.
