Hell yeah!!! From my favourite Rush album, “Moving Pictures” & Filmed at the legendary Le Studio (later renamed Studio Morin Heights), north of Montreal. The Studio is long gone, but the music recorded there will live on forever. Rush, Rainbow, Queensrÿche, April Wine, David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Corey Hart have all recorded at Le Studio.
Geddy Lee was an amazing multitasker… but Neal Peart… seriously, he was a marvel to watch.
“Neal Peart stands alone.”
– Dr. Krieger
I loved this song as a kid learning the drums. That is until other drummers started learning it stroke for stroke and suddenly thinking they were bad asses. The beauty of this song for me is in the composition. I love Peart because he’s not just a showoff, blasting out fast fills, he really puts his stuff together in meaningful and interesting ways. His drum solo on Letterman is the best I’ve seen.
Full Disclosure.
I’m kinda-sorta embarrassed, I’ve never listened to this before.
Great sound. Solid recording.
Though the group is called Rush, this song never sounds hurried.
What a cool place to record an album.
“Is” and “is”. 🙂
One of my all-time faves. Thanks for making my Friday.
I stand corrected. I guess it’s me to whom the past tense applies. I ruined my ears listening to their music long ago. Now I only listen to audiobooks 🙁
Not that kind of Rush 😉
Thanks for the heads up. I just found that solo and watched it. Amazing.
