Complete Digital Photography:
We’ve long advocated Photoshop Elements as the ideal non-subscription image editing app: it is cross-platform, has a decent Organizer, and almost all of the features found in the full version of Photoshop. Right now, through Feb. 20, Photoshop Elements is on sale for $70 on the Adobe site, which is 30% off the list price.
Photoshop Elements doesn’t get nearly the love it deserves. It’s actually a pretty good photo editor, especially for amateurs.
Or… get pixelmator.com? It’s cheaper and no subscription, too.
Pixelmator is cheaper (and very good) but, as the story says, Photoshop Elements is a “non-subscription image editing app”.
I love a lot of the “fun” stuff Elements lets me do – I use it a lot for putting together panoramas.
The “normal” price in Australia is $159, for some reason I was able to get it a month or two ago on the Mac App Store for $109. Complete bargain.
For my regular photo editing – I use Acorn – or just Preview which is fantastic for basic stuff like cropping and resizing etc.

unfortunately still normal price in at least the Asian stores, so the discount is perhaps just US.
Had a version of Elements years ago, liked it because it had most of the stuff I needed and was a lot simpler to use than the full photoshop app.
At $70 I’d probably buy it again, so I’ll keep a look out for it being discounted here.
I read his post as “like Photoshop Elements, it is also non-subscription.”
It’s still the best of the non-Photoshop editors.
Having subscribed to Creative Cloud through gritted teeth, I was barely aware that Elements was still available.
I use Affinity Photo instead – much better than Photoshop
