So much richness here. There’s an organized performance called Choir! Choir! Choir!, where attendees (total strangers, who come to see the performance) are taught a sequence of vocal parts, then a bit of rehearsal, then they perform.
In the video below, David Byrne (the unmistakeable voice from Talking Heads) sings David Bowie’s classic Heroes, and the crowd sings background. I would absolutely love to attend one of these performances. Bucket list.
That is beautiful. It’s beyond brilliant that such an inspiring song was conducted and performed so inspirationally.
Sadly, obtaining tickets for his appearances seems to be best left to professionals.
This is very cool. The first thing I noticed was how old I must be as the David Byrne from my youth is stepping up to the mike with his readers clipped to his shirt. Then I noticed that this was not done in one take, as the readers keep appearing and disappearing on his shirt. Still very cool though.
Almost as good as the original Eno produced version and better than many of Bowie’s live ones. Great job from everyone.

You’re not that old if you have the ability to say “the David Byrne from my youth.”
Unfortunately this is becoming all to common. Except for those artists that are aware of it, which are far too few.
