  1. I think I’ve got 10 thermostats in my house. The best thermostat is the one that doesn’t cost $200 and require firmware updates to avoid setting my house on fire. 🙂

  2. I have two older mercury type thermostats. Set it and forget it. It’s on a good temp to stay on all day. Need it a little warmer? Rotate clockwise slightly. It’s funny, I love tech, but not the internet of shit, thanks for that BTW! : )

  3. I’ve got those in most of the rooms of my house. They’re not quite accurate enough for me; we freeze our asses off at night, try to adjust it a bit at night, and wake up to a sauna.

I’m sure the right brand will work and having them per room doesn’t help, but I’m thinking a $40 digital will do the trick. If it’s hand programmable enough to go down a few degrees at night in the rooms we’re rarely in, so much the better. But no Internet.

  4. My two, actually three, are pretty good. I have one that is programmable too, it also works well. But, yes, the main point is, no connectivity. I am “out there” enough as it is.
