Thoughts on camera gear

Good read. Thanks. iPhones, and others, are great. But, real cameras offer more for those who ‘notice’ it. I shot portraits last weekend with my Sony a7rii and Zeiss 25 prime ($4k+ combined). When I showed them to colleagues one comment was that one of the images was okay….for a phone. Some just don’t notice. ?
Well, when you shoot portraits with a 25mm wide lens people confuse the photos with smart phone pictures (ca. 27mm). They expect portraits been shot with 50mm, 85mm and up. Don’t worry. They don’t know better.

Very true, considering my typo. Ha. I intended to write 85 prime. I use both lenses extensively, however, and do love a wider environmental portrait. Even better at 18. ?
Sometimes one is encouraged to believe that a real camera is a waste of time. It’s nice to be reminded otherwise.
