1. Nooooo ! Give me my 32 bits apps baaaaack !

2. I don’t think you are forced to upgrade. I have an iPhone 5 laying around to run those 32-bit apps!

3. Actually, I was thinking to upgrade my iPhone SE (for watchOS too) but keep iOS 10 on the iPad, for the good old games (kids requirements).

But still, boring to lose the compatibility for not-so-old apps.

4. it’s apple‘s „we want you to buy a new device“ update for the 5s and the original apple watch. been running the GM for the last week, but will downgrade before it‘s too late. not many visible updates (although the new control center is great – apart from the tv-remote widget that won‘t detect a 3rd gen apple tv) but it runs considerably slower and needs more battery. especially on the 5s, every app takes forever to load now, it feels at least 3 to 4 times as long as on ios 10.

I also have it running on an ipad air 2 – it‘s runnig o.k., but a little stuttery and buggy (for comparison, ios10 on the 5s felt faster). but it adds a lot of new functionality, so it’s kind of worth it ( although half of it doesn’s feel very polished or sophisticated ).

all in all: one of apple‘s less polished ios releases, i wouldn‘t recommend it on the 5s, nor would i recommend installing watch os 4 on the original watch. it‘s not as slow, but adds very little apart from the imho pretty ugly siri watchface.

5. When did they start requiring app submissions to be 64-bit?

6. February 2015

7. The public beta has been running great on my 7+.

I’m all for Apple moving on with both hardware and software. I just saw a story on Facebook about some security firm discovering malware with many downloaded flashlight apps on smartphones. So glad the iOS’s flashlight app is built in. No way Apple would allow such malware!

They’ll just keep on doing the right thing, and more and more customers will switch.

I’ve set my sights on an iPhone X and Apple Watch Series 3!

8. Wow. I guess every other opinion of qualified bloggers and Apple professionals are wrong. Although, the reviews are largely based on experiences using modern devices and not ones 4-5 generations old.

9. I have an iPhone 5S, for now. I’ll be upgrading soon. But in the interim, have you seen any 5S reviews or anyone mention the performance?

10. It’s flawless on my SE, but that’s two generations ahead performance-wise.

11. How’s performance on the Watch though? Was thinking of installing it for the new Heart app.

12. I guess you didn’t get the app the moment it came out, else you’d have had more than 2.5 yrs to utilize what you paid for!

15. One example: I bought one game 9$ just one year ago. My daughter and me still enjoy this game. Developer doesn’t exist anymore. Should I feel sorry because I didn’t check at this time it was 32bits-only ?

18. I don’t think Apple should have allowed sale of those 32-bit apps once they decided to not support them in a future, major iOS update, or at least put a warning on those pages that the app might not run in the next iOS update..
