Yes, that’s Google Glass on her frames. But she’s not using it to check her Facebook, dictate messages, or capture a no-hands video while riding a roller coaster. Erickson is a 30-year-old factory worker in rural Jackson, Minnesota. For her, Glass is not a hip way to hang apps in front of her eyeballs, but a tool—as much a tool as her power wrenches. It walks her through her shifts at Station 50 on the factory floor, where she builds motors for tractors.
Okay, I can see how it could make sense for some business markets.
All they need to do now is add a little handle in the center to keep the glasses from falling off, they could use it as a little handle too, you know to take the google glasses off. Maybe call it google grab or opti something.
Find a purpose first. Ship only after that.
Vertical markets have always made a lot more sense for this gadget. Google’s mistake was trying to make them seem cool for consumers, which is something its culture doesn’t know how to do, and they came off as creepy and intrusive.
Creepy and intrusive come very natural to them.
