The service policy has been in effect since last year and applies to any first-generation Apple Watch, including Sport, Edition, and Hermès models, even if the device’s limited one-year warranty or extended AppleCare coverage has elapsed.
Glad to see they are fixing this for free. This is the type of problem you don’t expect from Apple products.
Yep this is good news. My wife’s Gen 1 watch separated just like this about 11 months in to use.
They’ll fix front separations, too.
This is quiet embarrassing to be honest (using glue in a watch), and if they didn’t extend the repair program it would be very bad indeed. But I get that its necessary to give it that unique Apple look, and would probably cost a fortune if they wanted to avoid glue. (Still love my 1st gen watch, and haven’t had any issues so far)

This is bad design, plain and simple.
If design is really “how it works,” an idea Apple has championed, I see no excuse for this.
This is the first I recall hearing about this defect. “The back of my Apple Watch fell off” is not something anyone should ever have had to say.
