A majority of Anker’s sales come from cables and wall chargers, and it’s now moving into the smart home and auto market — anywhere a plug and a cable can solve a problem.
Yang saw a desire for a better type of accessory — one that wouldn’t cost as much as a replacement straight from the original manufacturer, but that would be of a high enough quality to earn consumers’ trust.
I have a couple of Anker cables and battery packs. I think they are very good quality and certainly cheaper than the ones I’ve bought from Apple.
I’ve started ordering Anker cables exclusively. Compared to other third party cables, they’re great. Compared to Apple cables… honestly, I think they’re better.
I’ve also put a couple multi-chargers (one an Anker) in my house, and we’ve stopped using the Apple chargers (for practical reasons — why provide one charge slot when I can provide four or five?). Very happy so far.
An Amazon box just arrived with 5 Anker items in it (1 desk charger, 4 Lightning cables). We have 3 brick chargers (20K, 2 x 26K), 2 bullet chargers (5K each) several wall chargers and a PowerHouse (think motorcycle battery in a box) from them. Probably a dozen cables now. Good prices, great performance and none of them have let me down.
i’m a fan of their braided, kevlar lined charging cables. they seem to be holding up to my cats — the cats seems to love chewing on the more spongy apple cables. (i believe apple uses a special plastic to discourage tangling and the cats love them most)
but lame headline which seeks to paint apple in a negative line, is not winning, etc..
Of course The Verge would use such a clickbait headline.
From what little I’ve seen of their products, Anker deserves the attention.

I don’t think this has anything to do with Apple. Anger has built a successful business on accessories, a market Apple usually leaves to third parties.
I’ve liked all my Anker items except the bluetooth keyboard. I think that lasted less than a year before it started acting up. Otherwise, pretty good stuff.
