No big deal, right? Except….
When the singer who was supposed to sing it had microphone issues, he got the crowd to sing it for him. Again, no big deal, right? Except…
These fans were singing the American national anthem. The Star Spangled Banner. Word for word. No teleprompter.
Canadians. Honoring America. Honoring hockey. Honoring their country. And doing great honor to themselves.
Make no mistake – these fans want their Edmonton Oilers to beat the living daylights out of the American team. But when America needs Canada’s help in any situation, we’ve always stepped up, no matter what.
Thanks to my friend Sly for the heads up.
Follow up: Thanks to Kyre Lahtinen for pointing me to the great story of the FSU baseball fans who sing the Canadian national anthem at every game.
That was pretty special.
Much respect to the Oilers’ fans.
I dont quite get your publisher’s fascination with America. You Canadians seem to have everything going for you except American greenbacks. Well, your money is cuter too.
Bless you all.
Dear Canadians, can you do something about Trump? Please?
We did. We voted in Trudeau. You guys were supposed to do your part. YOU DIDN’T… 🙁
If you can convince him that he needs to meet the leader of a foreign country in the Canadian arctic I’m pretty sure the country itself will take care of him for you.
I agree. Let’s tell him he has to go to the capitol of Canada and just drop him off in a town on the Arctic Ocean coast somewhere. Idiot doesn’t know US history, much less the capitol of Canada, so he won’t know, and maybe he’ll get lost in a snowfield or something.
Speaking as an American… we don’t deserve nice friends like you.

Indeed. Canada has hungry orphan polar bears somewhere, I’m sure. Find the biggest concentration of them and drop him there.
