R/C planes land on R/C aircraft carrier

Except they don’t seem to be RC planes, they’re drones dressed up as planes. Landing a plane on there would be impressive.
Now do that with a small jet powered RC unit 🙂

Yep, the second I noticed all the props I lost all enthusiasm.
A true RC plane landing on that carrier would be very impressive.
not RC planes.
A vertical landing by a drone, and that’s “news”?
Who claimed it was “news”? I just posted it as a fun video to watch. Nothing more important than that.

I’m curious what the scale is relative to the real thing. I know real aircraft have an astonishingly short distance to land, but at this scale it looks impossible.
“Landing on a flight deck is one of the most difficult things a navy pilot will ever do. The flight deck only has about 500 feet (~150 meters) of runway space for landing planes, which isn’t nearly enough for the heavy, high-speed jets on U.S. carriers.” http://science.howstuffworks.com/aircraft-carrier4.htm
Thanks for the link. 🙂 I had no idea they throttled up (forward, too!) after hitting the deck, but it makes sense.
Yeah. At those speeds, if you screw up, you want to have the power to get the hell off the deck and not get wet. 🙂
