Fate of the Furious is about to be released in theaters and we are excited. The Fast and The Furious franchise is one of our favorite guilty pleasures, so we knew we’d have to make a video looking back on the history of the series. Here at Burger Fiction, we live our lives a quarter mile at a time.
There is no better example of a guilty pleasure for me than these movies. Objectively, they are not very good and sometimes, they are downright awful but the stunts and the general “so bad it’s good” feel makes me love them all the more.
Is there Shark jumping, or is this series defined by shark jumping?
Eventually I suppose they will be driving in space.
I suffered through the first movie on a long flight. I’m very surprised it has lasted this long based on that, but to each his own.
I saw #1, #2, then Tokyo Drift. So I had no idea what was going on in “Furious 7.” A beloved Asian character died. And the gang is part of the CIA or NSA or something now? So was all of that just a way of writing Dwayne Johnson into the story?
I only saw #1 and #2 because Jordanna Brewster is so f-ing hot. I only saw Tokyo Drift because it was on Netflix. I only saw Furious 7 to say goodbye to Paul Walker. Might watch 8 when it shows up on Netflix.
At least #1 and #2 were “buddy-formula” movies. The latest ones seem to be something-for-everybody hedge-your-bet mash-ups with big stars slumming it for the paycheck. Like The Avengers but with superchargers instead of superpowers.
That wasn’t a shark, it was a submarine 🙂
And I love these movies…if I had them in VHS instead of digital, the tapes would be dead by now.
