Helpful link, thanks. It’s nice that iTunes backup is still featured. What’s not mentioned is that you don’t have to plug the device into the Mac to backup to iTunes. Instead, connect it once and check “Sync with this … over Wi-Fi”. The only gotcha is that Wi-Fi backup isn’t very auto. I have to click Back Up Now every now and then. I just noticed that re-launching iTunes did start one.
(P.S. Why did I have to reload the page and click the login button 4 times to log in to Disqus?)
i’ve found backing up to iTunes via wifi to be very unreliable so I’m actually quite pleased that they don’t mention this but rather direct folks to the reliable method
After all, the page is for the neophytes and tech dummies. if you expect them to check and click a button every few days it won’t likely happen
