This is like an external keyboard case with a slot for an iPhone (or an iPad), except with this model, there’s an external display that is driven by the iOS device’s processor.

Apple patents accessory that embeds your iPhone into a laptop
Not as it is anyway.
And then Apple changes the iPhone design rendering the slot useless to anyone buying a new phone.
I’ve long wanted something exactly like this and I think it’ll be technically possible in the not too distant future. I always imagined that the system would run iOS as a standalone phone and macOS as a laptop.
For many reasons, though, I would be totally shocked if Apple ever released such a device. For one thing, it would render most of iCloud obsolete if you don’t have to worry about syncing data between devices.
