At a glance, Magnet ($7.99, but it’s on sale right now for $1.49) is like any window snapping tool. You can organise windows neatly side-by-side, in fullscreen, quarters, thirds or any combination of those you want. You can manage windows by dragging them, setting up keyboard shortcuts, or by using the menu bar. This alone is helpful for someone like me, who typically has dozens of windows open of varying sizes all stacked in a disorganised way that makes me spend more time in the app switcher than I’d like. If I do ever bother to manually resize a window, it’s usually just to make it large enough to peek out from another stack of apps.
What sets Magnet apart from other options is the sheer amount of polish.
I’ve been a Magnet user for years. I love it.
I bought Magnet a few months ago but I’m not using it because there was a conflict with Default Folder. I forgot about it until I saw this…wonder if it has been fixed?
I use Moom and love it. Watching the video, Magnet seems a lot more clunky.
I got Divvy in a software bundle years ago and have used it ever since. Another good option. I may have to download the trial of Moom to compare. I just checked out Magnet on the App Store. It’s currently $0.99 (at least in the USA). I might just buy it for that price since there is no trail version.
I’m with the Moom crowd. Much more sophisticated way to manage windows. With lots of automation/shortcut options. Hover over the green button on the top left, and then drag exactly what size and shape the windows should be. And it does the magnet trick when you drag windows next to edges/corners. But you can turn it off if that annoys you (it did me).
I use BetterSnapTool, for those of you who haven’t tried it out should really do so!
I use BetterTouchTool’s Snap Areas too. I don’t need fancy shortcuts because my windows are usually very fixed. I just wish a tool would remember where I put the windows and always open them there and lock them in place so I can’t accidentally move them a few pixels. I tried Moom but Moom was horrible at remembering where windows go with multiple monitors, especially on a laptop where the number of monitors changes. Also I believe it didn’t allow for precise window sizes, so certain apps that refused to resize according to Moom’s grids would leave empty spots. It’s been awhile since I’ve tried it though, since BTT works for me now for the most part.

On tuesday I got a great new Land Rover Range Rover from having earned $8752 this last four weeks.. Its the most-financialy rewarding I’ve had.. It sounds unbelievable but you wont forgive yourself if you don’t check it
