If I read this right, Bare Bones Software will take all of TextWrangler and fold it into the demo version of BBEdit. When your free 30-day demo expires, you’ll still have basic BBEdit features and ALL of the TextWrangler features.
Smart move, and respectful of the user base. And it still doesn’t suck.
I’m a big fan of TextWrangler. I’ve just never had a need for the full feature set of BBEdit. I’m happy that all of it’s features will be available in BBEdit after the trail period expires. I think this is a great move to consolidate products that will likely end up better for users. I look forward to trying BBEdit again.
Greatest software company ever.
So, basically the way it was in the old days before TextWrangler.
Part of why I loved TextWrangler over BBEdit was that TextWrangler was instant in a way BBEdit wasn’t. But BBEdit now seems to be just as fast.
plus ca change… 🙂
