IK Multimedia releases Fender Collection 2

In Fender Collection 2 you’ll get all of the glorious “tweeds” from the ’57 Custom Series, a refined, player-centric take on a classic platform that includes the ’57 Deluxe, the ’57 Champ, ’57 Pro, ’57 Twin and ’57 Bandmaster.

Plus you get a spot-on model of an original 1953 Bassman and a 1965 blackface Super Reverb.

It’s hard to argue how iconic some of these amps are. IK has done a great job in the past bringing some of the most sought after amps to the public in its AmpliTube products.

  1. My old man has an amazing Super Reverb at home that, if I had to pick just one thing to have given to me in the will, I’d take in a heartbeat. It was the personal Super Reverb amp of Larry Rodgers in Florida, who did all the Fender wiring for Stu Hopkins. It was originally a 1969 issue, but Larry rewired it to the classic factory 1964 AB763 specs, replaced all the cheesy chrome parts with US-made nickel parts, swapped out the silver faceplace for a black one and regrilled it with original tan fabric. It also has the original Fender speakers. Florida had gone through a couple hurricanes and Larry was afraid the next one might take out his shop and all his gear, so he ended up selling my dad the amp for less than half what it was worth.

He never uses many pedals anyway, but with that amp you don’t need them. It plays itself.
