To deliver that, Google Play Music uses machine learning to figure out what music you like and then mixes in signals like location, activity, and the weather along with hand-picked playlists to personalize music for wherever you are and whenever you want tunes. Starting this week on Android, iOS and the web, the new experience will roll out globally (62 countries, to be precise).
The new app is live now, I just downloaded it.
No thank you. I know what music I like. I own all of it. No algorithm for me.
Wish they would develop a CarPlay version – I have been with Apple Music for 6 months but I still find it clunky and not user friendly.
the best part about GPM for me was the songza radio. Load up the app & instantly find station suggestions based on time of day, mood & activity. But this new redesign buries it in favor of clutter and other malarkey. There’s no way in hell am I giving Google access to my location data just so I can find radio stations. Back to Spotify for me.
Don’t want to wait 5 minutes and tell us what it’s like?
