Apple has also introduced some significant price cuts to the 4K and 5K LG UltraFine Displays that were announced at its October 27 Mac event.
The LG UltraFine 5K Display is now priced at $974, a $325 price cut from its original price of $1,299.95.
The LG UltraFine 4K Display is now priced at $524, a $175 price cut from its original price of $699.95.
Along with the price drops on accessories announced yesterday comes these incredible savings on displays. Seriously tempted by that 5K price.
Bonus: LGs have adjustable height.
I bought another LG screen, a 24″ 4K monitor for $329 at Fry’s. (this is the same monitor on Amazon for reference) These look nice but a) the 4k is 21.5″ which is a bit small and b ) I don’t value the Apple integration enough to pay effectively double.
Yeah I have nothing that can drive that 5k display right now but still want one.
If it were someone else dropping prices of products (dongles, monitors) right after launch, we would be mocking them.
No worries. Plenty of us are mocking them.
Why?
Because it’s always embarrassing when a company has to lower its price due to customer revolt. Always easier to raise prices than it is to lower them.
Too bad every successive “revolt” is prompted by increasingly trivial issues.
