Apple on Wednesday sent out an invite to press for a special event the company will hold at its Cupertino, Calif. campus on October 27. I will be at the event and will bring you all the news.
It is widely expected that Apple will update its Mac line-up during the event. Nobody knows for sure which Macs are scheduled for updates, but there is hope among users that the MacBook Pro will be among them.
This will most likely be the final product update of the year for Apple as we head into the holiday shopping season.

Interesting. Does “hello again” simply reference the Macintosh and that we are getting updated Macbooks and iMacs? Or does it mean the introduction of a new product, or at the least a design that can be classified entirely new (such as the change from the Performas and all to iMacs)?

I really hope that they pack a decent GPU option into the iMac or MBP. If not, I’m done with Mac but will continue (for now) to use iPhones and iPads.
Unless they actually announce a brand new type of Macintosh computer, the use of “hello again” is a bit lame and kind of facile isn’t it? “Trading on past glory” comes to mind.
If there is no nMac Pro or least a speed bump with Thunderbolt 3 I will be disappointed!
Or a new basic line, similar to the iMac intro, or something Siri-like to be announced at the same time, or…
Really, it’s a pretty ambiguous statement. Speculation doesn’t have a lot of value, since we’re only a week away.
