CNN Money:
“If a customer is going out to buy a phone, they’re going to buy an iPhone 7, not a Note 7,” said Mark Newman, a Bernstein analyst who covers Samsung. He pointed out that the Note 7 was launched before the iPhone 7 and received better reviews.
Not sure I agree on the better reviews things, but keep reading:
Samsung’s Note 7 storm will “most likely blow over in a couple of months,” he said. “Longer term, Samsung is a strong brand with great products. Most of them don’t explode.”
And there it is. The Galaxy Note 7 killer feature. Not newsworthy, I know, but I just loved the quote.

“Most of them”
Yeah…
“… blow over”
This analyst really needs to think before speaking or writing.
i’m sure the media would totally be cool with “most them don’t explore” were this apple, right? yeah right.
I read him as saying “most Samsung products don’t have an explosion problem”, not “most Note 7s don’t explode”.
(Though the latter is also true.)
Nah. Expect the media to have a shitstorm when the inevitable Jet Black “micro abrasions” start to happen in the wild. It will get 10x more publicity than Samsung recalling a product that has actually injured and caused property damage.
Remember the whole iPad 3 heat-gate? It was silly then, even sillier looking back on it. I totally expect some controversy with the Jet Black scratching in a week or two.
