Apple on Saturday added two new playlists to its Apple Music service, which are both based on your listening habits on the service.
“My New Music Mix” is a playlist with new music from artists Apple thinks you will like. This playlist is updated every Friday. My playlist was very good this week, although it did have one “Dance” song in there—not sure where that came from.
“My Favorites Mix” is based on songs you love on Apple Music. Other songs will be added if they feel it matches songs you’ve already loved.
Both playlists are in the “For You” section of Apple Music.
These are great additions to Apple and just what I think Apple should be focused on to improve the service. Well done.
I only see the new music playlist, not sure why. I’m in the UK, but not sure if it’s relevant.
Same here in Germany.
Ich sehe beide.
Dirk, Thomas, do you have lots of music you’ve marked as “love”?
I’m wondering if because I listen in the car, I haven’t marked any songs as “loved” therefore Apple can’t make a playlist.
They could just make one using my library though.
Kris, I added hearts to all my five star ratings and then some. So yes, quite a lot of hearts pounding in very different genres. Surprisingly the My Favorites Mix contains only soundtracks. I like it anyway 😉
I’m not seeing either playlist. Maybe they’re slowly rolling it out?
Nope, not seeing either.
Same for me. No love from Apple Music, though, it’ll probably roll out wide release next week after the event.
I think this is iOS 10 Beta only.. am I wrong?
Works for me. I like “My New Music Mix”. Nice variety, and a convenient way to discover new music. I also like the new iOS 10 UI. More intuitive and aesthetic.

I started using “Hey Siri, like this song” for that occasion.
But I am also wondering if these new playlists are only in the iOS 10 Beta?
Apparently. They show up under For You on my iPad running iOS 10 beta but not on my phones or AppleTV. Too bad because I like what was selected.
