Apple, Australian banks battle over Apple Pay

  1. I was talking to a friend from the Commonwealth Bank about what some people have been able to do with their “Alfred” point of sale system. It’s pretty cool stuff – but only possible because they have access to the payment system in the Android phones.

Alfred btw is like a next gen card reader – yes, next gen after you update all your existing ones to a chip reader. Its a tablet about the size of an iPad mini and the whole POS can be on the screen for the shop. Looks a bit clunky but when you realise how powerful it can be its great.
