Lyft turns down GM acquisition

Ride hailing company Lyft rebuffed acquisition interest from General Motors Co and will raise a new funding round instead, technology website The Information reported on Friday, citing two people familiar with the situation.

This is a great move from Lyft. I have little to no confidence in General Motors’ management or the products they have. Quality is certainly not a word that comes to mind when I think of GM.

  1. Rather buy GM than any crap Euro made car any day. Cheaper to buy, Quality is better and cheaper to repair. Total cost of ownership is just way better than the euro trash.

  2. Well, that’s if you care about the cost of ownership. For euro cars you pay for stuff like the dashboard being covered in leather.

  4. When we moved to our current neighborhood over a decade ago, we needed a decent, minimal car for occasional use that wasn’t an SUV but could fit tall folks. We got a Buick Century.

No major complaints after 12 years and 30,000 miles.
