Apple CEO Tim Cook to host Hillary Clinton fundraiser

Buzzfeed:

Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook will host a fundraiser with Hillary Clinton next month, as the Democratic nominee becomes the first woman in American history to lead a presidential ticket of a major party.

Cook, joined by Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, will help raise money for the Hillary Victory Fund, according to an invitation obtained by BuzzFeed News.

Cook is hosting the event as a private citizen. This comes on the heels of a similar event he held for Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

  2. Nope, people should be there only for what the politicians have to offer. No distractions.

Paul Ryan is a con ( Heritage foundation rings any bells, Hillary Clinton must have a equivalent ), there are proofs, and he supports Mr Trump anyway. Which is the same as supporting Mr. Trump, see the …

  3. I have no idea what you mean by “no distractions.”

If “politicians should do it themselves alone,” then only politicians who can afford to finance a public campaign will run for office. You seem to be conflating campaign financing with think-tank consultants who write policy for candidates who can’t/won’t write it themselves.

Or perhaps you believe a statewide or national campaign can somehow be run by only one person going door-to-door, shaking hands.

  4. Actually Tink tanks have the power to bend minds (manipulate and bend a democratic process), editorials of powerful publications are in their pockets.

I wonder if Mr Cook can help gather more dough than the heads behind the think tanks which is funder by the holigarcs anyway.

  5. I know what think-tanks and consulting groups are capable of; they pollute our language, cripple our process, and subvert good public policy every day. They’re the reason why we no longer have decent public education or maintained infrastructure.

So I’ll see you again the next time you circle around and get back to what you originally said.

  6. Funny, I was thinking before I read the comments “at least here I’ll see some intelligent commentary”.
Huh. I should have stopped reading here.
Thanks for giving me some faith anyway.
