While the Verizon Plan at 100GB is designed to be shared across multiple users, each line receiving notification to move to the new Verizon Plan is using well in excess of that on a single device.”
I have no idea how someone could use 100GB of data a month.
I’ve already seen people claiming that they need to. One even claims to average 225GB a month.

If your phone plan is your primary internet connection then I could see it. My home internet regularly tops 200GB and sometimes 300.

My home internet regularly tops 500GB per month, well beyond my ISP’s datacap which is 400 GB.
3.2 gigs a day (for a 31 day month) isn’t that much.

Yup. Full-time RV’ed for a year with an unlimited Verizon account so I could work from the road, and regularly used 150GB+/month with combo of work and streaming video.
I’m so sick of these scummy companies going back on their promises. Unlimited data means unlimited data. AT&T, Verizon, they’re all scumbags. Their infrastructure (and thus capacity) is growing faster than usage, and their costs are going down, not up. Yet they pull stuff like this. I’m using T-mobile unlimited at the moment, but at this point I don’t trust anyone to keep their word, perhaps even the “uncarrier.”
I suppose it makes sense to shut down the resellers who are in breach of contract.
And that’s fine… but then you should pay at a different tier for that.
I think they should just get rid of unlimited unless it’s truly uncapped at all. Expose tiers of data (1-25g, 25-50, etc) and let us pick.

He bought into an “unlimited” plan. They shouldn’t offer an unlimited plan if they don’t plan to continue to deliver it.
Unlimited means exactly that, or at least it should.
Personally I don’t go anywhere near these amounts. Usually my home usage is about 50gb a month and my cell usage about 1gb or under, usually about 700mb.
But still I can see being upset if you entered into an unlimited agreement that suddenly isn’t. And why? Because you are using too much of your unlimited amount? What?
I use over 300GB per month on average with my home internet, so if this is their only means for connecting to the internet, I am not surprised.
It makes me so sick. Verizon advertises unlimited plan years ago. Unlimited!!! Not unlimited up to.. So I signed up. Despite Verizon then turning around and saying sorry you can’t update your phone now or your unlimited plan will be taken, we still remained loyal and bought phones for manufactures cost or through 3rd party. Then it was sorry we’re raising your plan 40.00 per month so you can remained grandfathered into plan and keep your unlimited data. Omfg really???? Then this b.s… Verizon I can understand having 80 % of Verizon people on unlimited Data can hurt your services. But now Verizon has only less then 1 % of customers on this plan and still bitchng about it. I call BULL SHIT on that. This is a well planed approach to screw there customers over with 5 g coming out. If they want to take my plan they brought me in by they can have it when they pay me damages all these years for staying with them when I could have gone somewhere else and paid less and for paying factory price for phones. Absolute pure bull shit. Verizon can smd.
Oh I don’t disagree… I guess what I was thinking of is that too often the carriers do the unlimited plans with an asterisk (*After N gig, speeds may slow). I’d rather see acknowledgment that truly unlimited doesn’t exist or, if it does, it can’t be priced at the same or close to same level as the person who capped at 2gig. I say this as someone who pays $10/month for unlimited LTE on T-Mo…. I mean, if it’s REALLY unlimited, I could cancel Comcast…but they tell me upfront that hotspot bandwidth is capped at 3gig/month.
