The Guardian:
Rolls-Royce has unveiled its first driverless vehicle, a concept car that promises to help its owner announce their importance to the world. The Vision Next 100 is an autonomous vehicle aimed at “the most discerning and powerful patrons in the world”. It has no steering wheel and a silk “throne” from which its occupants can watch the world go by.
Rolls-Royce said the zero-emission model, codenamed 103EX, showed the company “rejects the notion of anonymous, utilitarian and bland future modes of mobility”.
This thing is quite literally the ugliest car I’ve even seen. If this is the future of “luxury driverless automobiles”, I hope I’m dead before I see this abomination on the road.

Nowadays Lamborghinis are the only cars i really like ( and i cannot afford ), but its electric car looks average and ugly.
Not very practical, imagine when it is raining.
From the front, it’s kind of interesting. From the side, one wonders if the designers had intentions of eschewing the “carness of the car.” When I saw this and the BMW concept now making the rounds, my first thought was actually, “Why are they hiding the damned tires?” You can only drive over ultra-smooth surfaces with wheels so hidden.

I’m fairly the certain the AI running most of these “cars” is retarded. Hence, IF the conditions, road, etc.. are perfect – it may work.
I’m sure you’re right. But I suspect that the AI is largely aspirational, in the sense that nobody really expects the car to do much other than hint about that glittering future, when Bluetooth doesn’t suck, and automative AI comes of age, and if you can afford it, you can go to your destination on a sofa. But I’m not sure that explains these carmaker’s aversion to letting the public see that the things sit atop tires.

Last summer i had the amazing opportunity to testdrive Rollsroyce Phantom and Ghost. After returning the cars, we chatted with their head of PR in Europe. One question i asked was is Rollsroyce thinking about self driving cars. He replied to me – “Rollsroyce has been making self driving cars for a century. Just tell your driver where you want to go”

That’s the trick. It’s looks slow … until it starts moving … then it falls apart.
I don’t hate rich people. But if I saw a guy get out of that thing, I’d want to punch him in the face.
