The Indian government on Monday said it was discussing Apple Inc’s foreign direct investment application that seeks a waiver from a local sourcing rule.
This will be an important decision for Apple. It’s a good sign that the government is even discussing it
Given the Indian government’s long and tortured history with sales by foreign companies or governments of everything from arms to airplanes to India, I wouldn’t book that ticket to Mumbai just yet. My bet is that they’re gonna keep jerking Apple’s chain for some time yet.
