The paywalled report claims that the fighting is holding back Apple from fixing “technical problems that have plagued iCloud and iTunes,” while at least one key engineering manager is said to have departed the company over the ongoing conflict.
Political infighting is the worst.
This is good info to know. It explains, partially, why iTunes is so awful and has remained awful, while products like Logic Pro continue to get better with each new version. Tim needs to light a fire under someone’s ass. Trying to explain how books, music purchasing, music streaming, TV shows, Mac apps, and iPhone apps are all handled on the Mac is very difficult. It’s a complicated system. Add in iCloud and things get really hairy.
