The deafening applause you hear is the emotional outburst from a control room full of SpaceX employees who have made this attempt 4 times before, only to watch their dreams crash and burn. This is a beautiful video, full of beautiful moments.

Tremendous accomplishment. The one disappointing thing about it is when everyone starts shouting “USA, USA!” I’m no America hater, but c’mon, this is a victory for humans, not one specific nationality. Geez…
Fantastic. This is the best video sequence I’ve seen yet and the landing and cheering brought tears to my eyes. I’m old enough to have witnessed all the early Soviet and US space flights and while the first moon landing with Water Cronkite was incredible, this is right up there.
