Fortune poll: What is your favorite Apple product of all time?

Good question. My very first Mac, which I got in early 1984. Hard to match that purchase for pure product joy. But then there’s my first Laserwriter. Or the terrific modularity of the Mac IIci. Then there’s every single iPhone I’ve ever gotten, each better than the last.

But that original Apple II. That was so much fun. If I have to pick one, I’ll go with my first.

  1. The first iPhone was so magical and I absolutely could not wait to get one. But I would have to say my 15″ Retina MacBook Pro is probably my favorite Apple product of all time. My husband and my son gave it to me for Christmas year before last, so that makes it even more special.

  2. Oddly, the Mac II fx which was proprietary, overpriced and difficult to maintain. We bought it used and it was simply the fastest machine around. Digital multi media was born for me using that machine.

  3. My first Apple product which was the original iPad. I still praise it’s design every time I see it without a case!

  4. I can’t decide. I have loved every Mac I’ve ever owned and I have great memories of all of them. Maybe my Mac Plus, back in the day, or my LC III. Both amazing computers when released.

  5. Personal LaserWriter NT. The first “budget” PostScript laser printer (although still more expensive than my Mac CPU), but it allowed me to work on projects when my art school’s computer lab was closed. It was only 300dpi, but I could do proofs of things to be imageset, saving LOTS of expensive set-up time at the service bureau, and even a few camera-ready items like the text and EPS graphic business cards I did for a garage in exchange for some work on my car.

  6. Probably my first Mac, which was also my first computer of any kind: the SE FDHD. Using it felt like a remarkable vindication for having left behind programming and the command-line, especially once I began creating documents and art with it. That Mac was the first computer I hadn’t learned to hate.
