Keir Thomas, writing for Mac King Fu:
I’ve been using Mac OS X for over a decade and have written books about how to use it, but today learned of a new way of opening files via the App Switcher.
Boy, did I feel dumb.
To be fair to Keir, I did not know that one either.
So, I thought it fun to write one of those Wikipedia-style posts about every possible way to open a file on Mac OS X – or at least every method that I’m aware of. See how many you know.
Great post, worth it to scan through, tuck away, and pass along.
I found the App Switcher open by mistake a few years ago, don’t use it much (I almost always use the dock). Never thought to use the Launcher though – in my own defense I almost never use it to begin with, only to check apps downloading from the App Store. And yes, I use the App store as much as possible, I really wish Apple would show it some love.
