iPhone 6s Plus destroys the Galaxy S7 Edge in speed test

I have to say, I was really surprised by the results here. I thought it would be much closer.

  1. That was awesome to watch.

The apps running in the background was fantastic.

Just goes to show that it’s not about specs.

Like Mr Jobs said, “Design isn’t how it looks but how it works.”

I assume he also was talking about the internals.

  2. This surprised me as well. However, it’s not going to change the mind of anyone who is willing to pay the premium price for the S7 Edge. Those people are loyal to Samsung in the way that others are loyal to Apple. While this video looks totally legit, videos like these are fuel for fanboy smack downs. However, I wonder what percentage of buyers decide to buy a smart phone based on its speed in launching apps, rendering, etc, as opposed to the brand and price? My guess is a very small percentage of them.

  3. Newton’s Third Law: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If smoking something helps you understand that, more power to you.

  4. Ugh. Very hard to watch, due to the extremely loose language, poor description in general and especially … the backwards baseball cap.

  5. Even the biggest fans of Samsung that have bought the edge and reviewed it though, are pretty unanimous that the whole “edge” thing is a bit of a gimmick, is buggy, and that they stop using it after the first week or so.

To me, this makes anyone who seriously admires the edge a bit of an idiot by definition. Someone who is easily led by bright lights and pretty colours.

  6. Not so sure they are necessarily Samsung fanboys, more so Android fanboys or just anti-Apple folk, and the S7 Edge happens to be one of the best Android phones currently.

Apple has brand recognition and customer loyalty that every other company on the planet dreams of. Android users are fickle, not loyal to any particular OEM, either loyal to the Android platform or completely indifferent to smartphone brands in general and they just got sold to a particular Android phone by a carrier sales rep etc.
